Provider credentialing and enrollment, without the revenue gap.

A provider who isn't enrolled is a provider who can't be paid. We credential and enroll your clinicians with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial PPO and HMO plans, so new hires are enrolled ahead of their start date.

Serving California since 1988 Medicare, Medi-Cal, PPO & HMO

What is provider credentialing and enrollment?

Credentialing is the payer's verification of a provider's license, education, and qualifications. Enrollment is getting that provider set up in the payer's system so claims are accepted and paid. Until both are complete with every payer a provider bills, their visits are at risk of never being paid. We handle both, with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial PPO and HMO plans.

Why it decides revenue

Credentialing is a billing problem wearing paperwork's clothes.

It looks like paperwork. It behaves like revenue. Every gap in it turns directly into visits that can't be billed.

An unenrolled provider is an unbillable provider

Every visit before the enrollment effective date is revenue at risk. Some payers reach back, many don't, and hoping isn't a policy.

Safety-net credentialing has extra layers

A health center provider has to be set up correctly with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and each county's managed-care plans, and each of those has its own process and its own timeline.

Renewals lapse quietly

Revalidations and expiring documents don't announce themselves. A lapsed enrollment stops payments silently, and it is usually found only after the denials start.

Split vendors mean finger-pointing

When one company credentials and another bills, enrollment denials bounce between them. Under one roof, the team that sees the denial is the team that can fix the enrollment.

Our method

How we credential and enroll a provider.

Credentialing isn't a side service for us. MedBillPartner, Inc. was formed in 2014 with credentialing as its first service, and the discipline shows in the process.

01

Gather and verify

License, qualifications, and required documents collected and checked once, completely, so applications don't bounce for missing pieces.

02

Enroll with each payer

Medicare, Medi-Cal, the county's managed-care plans, and the commercial PPO and HMO panels you bill. Each application filed to that payer's rules.

03

Link provider and group

Individual and group enrollment tied together correctly, so claims route to the right entity and pay at the right rate.

04

Track and renew

Revalidation dates and expiring documents tracked ahead of time, so an enrollment doesn't lapse quietly underneath your billing.

And because we also run the billing: an enrollment-related denial is caught the day it appears, not at the end of the quarter.

Who we credential for

Health centers, clinics, and hospital medicine.

The same credentialing service runs across everyone we bill for in Southern California.

FQHCs & Look-Alikes

New providers set up with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and the county's managed-care plans, so encounters bill under the center correctly from the start. See FQHC billing.

Community clinics

Enrollment across the mixed payer landscape clinics actually live in, from Medi-Cal managed care to commercial PPO and HMO panels. See clinic billing.

Hospitalist groups

Physicians enrolled and linked to the group ahead of their start date, so a new hire's start date and billable date stay close together. See hospitalist billing.

Adding providers? Start the enrollment before their first day.

Tell us who is joining and when. We'll map out exactly which enrollments they need and get the applications moving before their start date.

Questions, answered

Credentialing and enrollment questions.

What is the difference between credentialing and enrollment?

Credentialing is how a payer verifies who a provider is: license, education, work history, and qualifications. Enrollment is how that provider actually gets set up in the payer's system so claims can be paid. A provider needs both completed, with every payer they bill, before their visits reliably turn into revenue.

Which payers do you credential and enroll with?

Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial PPO and HMO plans, including each county's Medi-Cal managed-care plans. We hold direct working relationships with Medi-Cal, Medicare, and major IPAs, which matters when an application stalls and someone has to get it moving again.

Can a new provider see patients before enrollment is complete?

Rules differ by payer and program. Some allow an effective date that reaches back, many don't, and assuming the best is how health centers end up with visits that can never be billed. The safe approach is to start enrollment as early as possible and know each payer's rules before the first visit is scheduled.

Do you handle revalidations and renewals?

Yes. Enrollment isn't a one-time event. Payers require revalidation, and documents expire. We track those dates and keep filings current, because a lapsed enrollment stops payments quietly, without a warning, and the gap is usually discovered only after claims start denying.

Do you credential providers for community clinics and hospitalist groups too?

Yes. We credential and enroll providers for FQHCs, FQHC Look-Alikes, community clinics, and hospitalist groups across Southern California. For a hospitalist group that means a new physician can be enrolled and billable when their first shift comes around, not months later.

Why does it matter that our biller also runs our credentialing?

Because the two jobs check each other. When a claim denies for an enrollment reason, the same team that saw the denial can fix the enrollment, with no vendor finger-pointing in between. Credentialing is also where this company started: MedBillPartner, Inc. was formed in 2014 with credentialing as its first service.
